IHR Winter Conference 2018
Home: new histories of living
8-9 February 2018
What is #myhistoryshelfie?
A photograph of a mantelpiece, shelf, or any horizontal display space whatsoever, on which stand objects that mean something to you. This can be taken in your home or another living space.
In association with The Geffrye-Museum of the Home and inspired by the theme of 2018’s IHR Winter Conference Home: New Histories of Living, we’re inviting attendees and speakers to contribute to the #myhistoryshelfie project.
There will be a prize for the most compelling and diverting post.
We will display these images at the Winter Conference on 8 & 9 February 2018.
We hope that #myhistoryshelfie will act as a prototype for future endeavours at the Geffrye relating to ‘the mantelpiece’ – details to follow.
How do I submit #myhistoryshelfie?
You can submit your entry using the hashtag #myhistoryshelfie on:
Please make sure your post is publicly available.
Your post should include a photograph and very brief description of how this shelf and the objects standing on it highlight your personal history.
